Welcome! I’m Mike Choi AKA mechachoi (meh-ka-choi)! I’m super glad you’re here. I’m a self-taught musician, playing covers of video game tunes, but I love playing all sorts of music.
I’m also a hardware hacker / engineer by day, so I might use Twitch to stream working on fun video game hardware projects.
YES, I take requests! Here's how it works be sure to read the rules first!
For song requests, check out the songlist here! Or click on the big Requests image above!
When the queue is open, anyone can request a song from the list! Please be patient as it may take a while for me to get to your request!
Below the chat box, you should see an icon of two green and yellow gears! These are Gears (our version of channel points). You gain them by sticking around the stream!
Click on the Gears icon and then you can submit a live learn request by clicking on the Live Learn Request button. Live Learn requests cost 2000 points. If I veto your request then your points will be refunded!
And that's all there is to it! All you need to do is sit back, relax, and wait for me to get to your request.
Everyone is welcome! Be friendly!

1. What instruments do you play? I mainly play piano and keyboard related instruments! I also play a lot of melodica/pianica.
2. How long have you been playing? I have been playing piano in some form for around 15 years or so. I’m entirely self-taught, and can’t read sheet music— which means that some songs can be a real struggle!
3. Do you have perfect pitch? I definitely don't have perfect pitch! I have sort of OK relative pitch. If you stick around my streams, you'll definitely see that I don't have perfect pitch. LOL.
4. What gear are you using? Piano / keyboard sounds: Keyscape PWI Sounds: SWAM VSTs Controller: Studiologic SL88I Grand Microphone: Shure SM7B Flute pianica: Suzuki Andes P-25 Normal pianica: Yamaha P-37D Breath control digital pianica: PWI-1 (it's custom!)
5. How can I support the channel? I have a tipping page here but if you'd like to support give me a follow and if you're really enjoying the stream, feel free to subscribe!
Special thanks to Mister Raroo for the spectacular channel art! He's the best. Check out his webcomic Bug Boss!
Special thanks to pootatoe and phenotype__ for help with the onscreen slimechu coffee animations!
What's that crazy wooden keyboard thing!? That's the PWI-1 (Piani-tar Wind Instrument) It's a custom MIDI-capable digital pianica-keytar that I built myself. It uses a Breath and Bite Controller which allows me to control the volume and vibrato with my breath, just like you would on a normal pianica. Essentially, it's a pianica that you can put whatever sounds you want on! Learn more about the PWI-1 here!
